Grupo Folklorico Tzintzuni, which means “hummingbird” in the Purepecha language of Mexico, was founded in June 2012 as a non-profit performing arts organization. Our mission is to promote awareness and preservation of cultural dance, music, attire and traditions of the Americas by educating our community through public performances and instruction. Our group members are working professionals who enjoy sharing their love of dance and culture with our community. Since our inception, we have performed at a variety of community events and venues, including Fiesta La Ballona, Knott’s Berry Farm, Hollywood Forever Dia de los Muertos, Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker Run, the San Pedro Tri Arts Festival as well as private events. Founded in Culver City and now located in Long Beach, California, we are available for events in the Greater Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Photos from our recent events are posted on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/gftzintzuni. Please “like” us.
