Jazz Spectrum Dance Company

Jazz Spectrum Dance Company is inspired by how the human body and music can become one. Just as jazz music is founded thru breaking the boundaries of classicism, JSDC’s work pushes the limits of the body while maintaining purity of technique. As founder Christine Baltes (1954-2018) said, “We find freedom in the form.” Jazz Spectrum is also known for a having a “sensuous side” and performing with “great clarity” & “abandon only the most accomplished can render.” It is movement that knows no gender and it is the company’s core belief that movement is built from the inside out. Bringing power to the stage and elevating our next generation thru historical preservation, diversity & innovation, JSDC continues to inspire audiences worldwide.

“At a Glance,” (2025) choreographed by Joey Doucette, is an evocative exploration of feminine power, seamlessly blending elegance and strength through dynamic movement. Utilizing a fusion of classsical jazz technique, Doucette’s choreography celebrates the beauty of movement while honoring the powerful narratives that women embody. Viewers will be captivated by the artistry and depth that define the essence of femininity in dance.
