In this Odissi Abhinaya (storytelling piece), a sakhi (friend) asks the beautiful Radha to go to the garden with beautiful flowers, where Krishna and the gopikas(cowherdesses) await her. She says, “Oh lotus eyed one, come to the garden where Krishna is playing the melodious flute. Everyone is chanting your name, and if you don’t join soon, they will leave without you.” Eventually, she convinces Radha to accompany her, and the two friends journey towards the garden to rejoice in ecstasy.
