Kairos Dance Company (est. ’06) uses dance as a platform to build social awareness. The piece shown at the San Pedro Festival of the Arts is called “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore” and focuses on Women’s Rights and Empowerment. We have performed works about erasing the stigma of mental illness, the homeless epidemic, social media and its effects on society, and more. Kairos has showcased its pieces in L.A., Palm Desert, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver, and Ogden, UT, and is proud to have presented three full length works at the Ivy Substation, home of Tim Robbins’ Actor’s Gang. This piece is danced by Carole Bacic, Kloii Hummingbird, Courtney MacMillan, Katelyn Martin, and Annie Von Heydenreich. Choreography by Artistic Director Hazel Clarke.
