Circles Upon Circles Upon Circles: A dance cycle of duets
This dance cycle is a modern jazz fusion that explores interpersonal connections of play, friendship, and loss of connection over time and through circumstance. A work steeped in groove and jazz lines, it focuses on the gravity of individuals that draw us into their orbit for a time before we are released back on our adventures through time and space. Set to a suite of pop and R & B songs, Circles Upon Circles Upon Circles showcases the dancers’ classical dance foundation as contrasted by American vernacular rhythms and theatrical attitudes for a mesmerizing blend of movement that sweeps you up and spins you round.
