SINDHOOR/NATYAVEDA – Navarasa Dance Theater is a South-Asian-American company led by renowned choreographers/directors Aparna Sindhoor and Anil Natyaveda along with film maker S M Raju. Navarasa was founded by Sindhoor in India with Prof. Balasubramanyam and Dr. Srivalli. Sindhoor and Natyaveda’s work is considered the “best physical theater out of India” and have been touring around the world with their unique style that is “deeply, almost in-your-face Indian, but impressively international in its appeal and quality” – Times of India. They have collaborated with Cirque du soleil famed Franco Dragone’ and recently with Oscar winner Antony Dod Mantel. Navarasa offers ongoing classes in Los Angeles in Indian dance (Mysore style Bharatanatyam), yoga, and it is the premier institution in the US for Kalari ppyattu (Indian martial arts) training.
