Pasión Flamenca Los Angeles

Founded in 2011, Pasión Flamenca Los Angeles is a contemporary flamenco and fusion dance company created by Raquel Leal Davies, Elizabeth Ipina, and Kelly Kelliente Richardson. United by their friendship, artistic vision, and passion for dance, the trio blends the intensity of flamenco with contemporary movement and other dance styles to create original, expressive performances.

Each founder brings a unique artistic background. Elizabeth Ipina is a former member of the U.S. National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. Kelly Kelliente Richardson is a former salsa champion with extensive experience in Latin dance. Raquel Leal Davies, trained in both Brazil and the United States, has appeared in music videos, films, television, and live entertainment productions, including the music video for Nick Jonas’ Golden Globe–nominated song Home, featured in the Academy Award–nominated film Ferdinand.

Based in Los Angeles, the company’s artistic foundation includes Flamenco, Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Salsa, and Bachata. Their choreography celebrates both the traditions of flamenco and the freedom of artistic innovation, creating performances that are powerful, emotional, and visually distinctive.

The three dancers met while studying modern flamenco with Maestra Celina Zambon, building upon their previous training in traditional flamenco. Inspired by artists who embrace creativity and evolution, they developed a style that honors flamenco’s roots while fearlessly incorporating contemporary influences.

Since its founding, Pasión Flamenca Los Angeles has performed throughout Southern California at cultural festivals, theaters, private events, and community celebrations. Performance highlights include collaborations with the Kol Sephardic Choir, appearances at the San Pedro Dance Festival, LA Rhythms of the City alongside Grammy Award winner Heitor Pereira, and performances at dance venues across Los Angeles. The company has also collaborated with acclaimed guest artists, including guitarist Adam Del Monte, flamenco singers ,dancers like Sibila Yaneva and Evelin Martinez, and musicians, while participating in numerous charitable performances, including a fundraiser for the AIDS Research Alliance (ARA) supporting HIV cure research and educational and youth personal storytelling Plus Me Project.
