The Southern California Dance Theatre is a not for profit dance company founded in 1994 by Paula Vreulink which seeks to involve the diverse community of the greater Long Beach area, especially youth, and exploring the many facets of dance productions and theater arts.
The company performs two annual full-length productions; The Nutcracker in December and a full-length spring performance. Rotating spring productions include The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, La Boutique Fantastique, Les Sylphides, and the Firebird. In addition, SCDT has hosted the SoCal Dance & Choreography Festival since 1996 featuring local artists, choreographers, dance companies and the result of the company’s summer intensive.
The Southern California Dance Theatre is proudly presenting performer Andrew Tiamzon, a Long Beach-native dancer who has earned numerous scholarships and has performed with numerous dance companies in Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, African, Hip-hop, Street-styles, and Heels.
