Vanessa Kanamoto

Vanessa Kanamoto, a former resident of San Pedro, is a dance educator and artist. She is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Northwest Florida State College. Vanessa holds an MFA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine, a BA in Dance, and a BS in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. She has taught at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Rio Hondo College, and UCI as a Graduate Teaching Associate and for the non-credit program at East Los Angeles College. Vanessa’s choreography has been presented at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival as part of the Inside/Out: American College Dance Association Gala Highlights.
