Vidushi. Sumangala is a disciple of Guru Smt Rekha Dineshkumar for the last fourteen years. She holds an MA in Bharatanatyam from Jain University, Bangalore, and has completed the Nritya Visharad and Senior grade from the Karnataka Board. Sumangala is a Doordarshan graded artist. She has completed her Arangetram under Guru Rekha. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance USA. She has attended workshops by senior gurus.
Sumangala’s currently lives in Texis, and her solo performances in India and abroad include Guruvayoorappan temple, Houston, Natyanjalis, Tanusree Nrityotsav, Pollachi Tamil Sangam’s dance festival, Kalpavriksha Mahotsav, Sai Nrityotsava, Articulate Festival, Krishnashtami at ISKCON Zurich, Tarakeshwara Foundation, India International Dance Festival, Pravachana Vahini series, Vasanthotsavam Festival among others.
With Guru Rekha, Sumangala has performed at several festivals including Tirupathi, Vande Guru Paramparam by Ananya Bangalore, Bharathanjali Natya Shaale’s Nrithya Jagarane, Sri Shankara channel, Rama Navami, and Natyanjalis.
Sumangala trains students in Bharatanatyam.
